John S. Beeson was born in Houston, Texas in 1940 where he grew up with his parents, Lee Read and Edith Cruse Beeson until joining the U.S. Marines. He attended Sam Houston State College from 1959 to 1962 and then South Texas College of Law from 1962 to 1965. Special Affiliations, member of the Pi Kappa Alpha from undergraduate school and Phi Alpha Delta in law school. He was licensed to practice law in the State of Texas in May 1965; by the Federal District Court, Eastern Division in 1970 and Southern District by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973. He practiced law in Vidor, Texas from 1965 to 1973, centering his practice on trial work.
He entered the real estate business as a developer in Houston, Texas in 1974. He has developed over four (4) million square feet of real estate in the form of retail shopping centers, office buildings, warehouses, apartments, townhouses and land. He currently is developing and managing 2,000,000 square feet in Texas.
John Beeson was the original organizer of the National Bank of Texas in 1982, which has subsequently merged into Frost Bank. Currently, he is Chairman of the Board and a major stockholder of Croft Production Systems, Inc. a manufacturer of air and gas dehydration equipment.
John Beeson has been a Director of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo since 1982, an organization that raises over $30,000.000 per year for college scholarships.
John Beeson is a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Houston, as well as a member of the Board of Chapelwood.
John Beeson is a member of the Beach Club, Palm Beach FL and the Houstonian. He is a resident of Houston, Palm Beach and Aspen.
John Beeson is married to Marsha Cross Beeson. He has four children.
